Examples forĀ Co-design of Action Plan
Example 1: Coastal Visioning Workshop
A coastal Living Lab organized a multi-day workshop where citizens, fishermen, and municipal planners worked together to design a long-term vision for their bay. Using maps and simple modeling tools, participants proposed wetland restoration zones and green tourism trails that were later integrated into the official coastal plan.
Example 2: Participatory Action Planning for Blue Carbon
In one demonstration area, the Community of Practice co-developed an action plan focused on blue carbon ecosystems. The process identified key seagrass meadows and saltmarshes for restoration, defined carbon monitoring indicators, and outlined governance roles for municipal authorities and local NGOs.
Example 3: Co-design of NbS Portfolio
Researchers, policymakers, and community groups collaborated to select a portfolio of Nature-based Solutions, including dune reinforcement, vegetated buffers, and reef restoration. Each solution was evaluated for cost-effectiveness, ecological impact, and social acceptance before inclusion in the final roadmap.
